Andre Durand

Chairman

Andre Durand is a twelve year veteran of the software industry. Prior to founding Ping Identity Corporation and the PingID Network in 2002, Mr. Durand founded Jabber, Inc. (www.jabber.com), a global leader in instant messaging and presence management systems with customers including Disney, France Telecom, AT&T, Bell South and Oracle. Prior to Jabber, Inc., Mr. Durand founded Durand Communications, a provider of client/server tools for online collaboration where he served as CEO for five years before selling the company to Webb Interactive in 1998. In addition to his role as CEO of Ping Identity Corporation, the driving force behind the creation of the PingID Network, Mr. Durand also co-founded and co-chairs the digital identity industry conference --Digital ID World (www.didw.com).


Dean Leffingwell

Former Chairman & CEO of Requisite, Inc. & Colorado MEDtech

Dean Leffingwell is an entrepreneur, software industry executive, and technical author who provides software product planning and strategic advisory services to software companies.

Currently, Mr. Leffingwell serves as chairman and director of Pelion Systems, Inc., as director and advisor to OneRealm, Inc., and as advisor to BV-Cornerstone Ventures, LP, Ping Identity Corporation, Sage Circle, Inc., and Roving Planet, Inc.

An authority on software development practices, Mr. Leffingwell is the lead author of the text Managing Software Requirements: A Use Case Approach (Addison-Wesley, 2003, second edition). He is currently working on another book, The Software Product Manager's Handbook.

Recently, Mr. Leffingwell worked at Rational Software, where he held various positions including the role of Senior Vice President, Process and Project Management. Previously, Leffingwell was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Requisite, Inc., which was acquired by Rational in 1997. Prior to 1993, Leffingwell was founder, chairman and CEO of publicly-held Colorado MEDtech, Inc. and its predecessor, RELA, Inc., a product development and manufacturing outsourcing company.


Frank Perna

Former Chairman of Software.com & CEO of MSC Software

Mr. Perna assumed the role of chairman and CEO of MSC Software in December 1998. His strategy is to accelerate revenue growth and improve operating margins by expanding the portfolio of products and services offered by MSC Software and increasing penetration into the MSC.Software customer base of more than 10,000 companies around the world. Over the last three and a half years at MSC Software, his vision has resulted in both internal and external growth and included the completion of six acquisitions, key business partnerships with companies like IBM and Dassault Systemes and the overall transformation of MSC.Software from a CAE provider into a focused Information Technology company. By providing software, services and integrated systems to companies in all world markets, MSC Software has become the catalyst in making Product Lifecycle Management efficiency a reality.

Before assuming his current responsibilities at MSC Software, Mr. Perna served as director on the boards of both MSC Software and PDA Engineering Inc. (which was acquired by MSC.Software in 1994). During the years 1994 through 1998, Mr. Perna served as Chairman and CEO of EOS Corporation, a high technology electronics manufacturer and also as chairman of Software.com. From 1984 through 1993, Mr. Perna was President (and CEO from 1990) of MagneTek, an international manufacturer of electrical equipment. During his tenure at MagneTek, Mr. Perna managed the strategic growth of the company from $195 million to more than $1.5 billion in revenue. Mr. Perna also spent 17 years at General Motors in the area of engineering test and computer simulation and has held senior management positions at Whittaker Corporation, Bell & Howell and Sun Electric.

Mr. Perna holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Kettering University, a Master's degree in electrical engineering from Wayne State University and a Master's degree in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Kettering University. Mr. Perna is a registered Professional Engineer and currently serves as a director of California Amplifier, Inc., a manufacturer of microwave products.


David J. Orfao

Managing Director - General Catalyst Partners

As a Managing Director of General Catalyst Partners, David Orfao concentrates on deployment infrastructures, tools, application development and packaged applications within the enterprise software sector. He is a board member of the following active General Catalyst investments: Avaki Corporation; IMlogic, Inc.; Imprivata, Inc.; Laszlo Systems; Maven Networks, Inc.; Service Integrity, Inc.; and Ping Identity Corporation.

Prior to joining General Catalyst, David held the positions of President/CEO and Senior VP of Sales Operations and Marketing for four publicly held companies. Most recently, David led Allaire Corporation from 1997 to 2000 as President/CEO/Board Member. During his tenure, Allaire grew from a venture-backed start up to an $119M public corporation trading on the NASDAQ. The company pioneered the Internet Application Server market with industry leading products such as ColdFusion and JRUN. In January of 2001, Allaire merged with MacroMedia Corporation and continues to be a leading Internet software company.

Prior to his CEO role at Allaire, David held the positions of Senior VP of Sales Operations and Marketing at Frame Technology Corporation, Claris Corporation, and SQA Corporation. Frame Technology and SQA Corporation were venture-backed corporations that successfully completed Initial Public Offerings on the NASDAQ.

Throughout his career, David has been an angel investor, advisor, and board member to several companies, including Marketsoft Corporation, Voxeo Corporation, and Firespout Corporation. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Accounting from Norwich University of Vermont.


Dave Power

Partner, Fidelity Ventures

Dave Power is a partner at Fidelity Ventures who focuses on investment opportunities in enterprise technologies. He currently serves on the boards of Black Duck Software, Kajeet, Ping Identity, Polyserve, and SpikeSource.

Before joining Fidelity Ventures in 2003, Dave was a venture partner with Charles River Ventures where he served as an advisor to several CRV-backed companies and a board member of Ximian (acquired by Novell). Prior to CRV, Dave was CEO of Novera Software (acquired by Mercator Software), a pioneer in web application integration.

Dave's earlier technology industry experience includes roles as senior vice president of marketing and corporate development at RSA Security; vice president and general manager for PC-Unix networking and integration products at Sun Microsystems; and vice president of Mercer Management where he co-founded the firm's information technology industry practice.

Dave earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from Stanford Business School, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.


Raj Atluru

Managing Director - Draper Fisher Jurvetson

Raj Atluru is a Managing Director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson where he serves on the boards of Agentis Software, Amazing Media, Blue Titan Software, Konarka Technologies, PAR3 Communications, Solicore and Vizional Technologies. Raj currently focuses on software applications and infrastructure, wireless communications and emerging energy technologies. Previous investments include ViaFone which was acquired by Extended Systems (XTND). Raj also spent three years with TL Ventures where he focused on early stage software, wireless communications and energy technologies. In addition, Raj worked in the Leveraged Finance and Asian Corporate Finance groups at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. Raj graduated from Stanford University with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Environmental Engineering and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Jeremy Allaire

Founder & CEO of Brightcove. Co-Founder Allaire Software. Former CTO of Macromedia.

As Technologist-in-Residence at General Catalyst Partners, Jeremy Allaire focuses on identifying new investment opportunities for General Catalyst in the areas of software infrastructure, enterprise software applications and Internet technology. Jeremy also works with the firm's existing early-stage portfolio companies on product development and go-to-market strategies.

A visionary in the development of software infrastructure for building Internet-based applications, Jeremy joins General Catalyst from Macromedia, Inc., where he was chief technology officer. He joined Macromedia in 2001, when it merged with Allaire Corporation, a company he helped found. At Allaire, he served as chief technology officer under the leadership of then-CEO David Orfao (now a managing director of General Catalyst Partners). Allaire Corporation pioneered the Internet Application Server and development tools market with industry leading products such as ColdFusion, JRun, and HomeSite. Through his work at Allaire and Macromedia, Jeremy helped define Rich Internet Applications, a new model for Internet applications that combines rich clients and Web services.

Jeremy is a regular author and analyst of Internet technologies. In addition to remaining involved with Macromedia as a Founder Emeritus, he is a board member of the Massachusetts Interactive Media Coalition (MIMC), New England's largest industry association for professionals focused on opportunities created by Internet technology, as well as privately-held Lexington, MA-based Applied Messaging. He has spoken at numerous industry conferences and seminars, including PC Forum, Supernova, Internet World, Comdex, Flashforward, Web Builder, Macromedia DevCon and Demo. Jeremy earned his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
